'Exploitation on paper, 12-hour shifts on ground': Raut slams Mahayuti govt over Mumbai Police

Mumbai, Oct 5 (UNI) Launching a scathing attack on the Maharashtra government, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Monday flagged a severe human rights and administrative crisis within the police force, alleging that constables and lower-tier personnel are being subjected to systemic exploitation through grueling 12-to-14-hour shifts despite official rosters showing a standard eight-hour workday.
In a sharp critique directed at the state leadership via social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Raut highlighted that while official station logs neatly display the mandated eight-hour shifts, personnel are routinely forced to stretch their duties through informal, verbal commands.
Official duty rosters submitted to senior authorities present a compliant picture of three eight-hour shifts, which Raut dismissed as mere paperwork concealing ground-level reality.
