‘Mann Ki Baat’ helped PM Modi take crucial decisions: Bihar min Mithilesh Tiwari

Patna, Sep 18 (UNI) Bihar Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, which provides a direct channel of communication with the people, has contributed to social reforms and helped the Prime Minister in taking crucial decisions.
Speaking about the book ‘Modi Yug Ka Bharat – Viksit Desh Ka Sankalp’, authored by renowned writer Murli Manohar Srivastava, Tiwari described it as a comprehensive account of the achievements of the Modi era and the Prime Minister’s vision for India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.
The book, launched by Tiwari at a function here on Wednesday, brings together the 25-year journey of Prime Minister Modi’s public service, along with various welfare schemes and initiatives undertaken under his leadership.
Tiwari said the book would help readers understand India’s development journey and provide insights into the path ahead.
Speaking to UNI, Tiwari said the book chronicles the achievements of Prime Minister Modi’s 12-year tenure and would not only enhance readers’ knowledge but also familiarise them with his style of functioning and vision for the future.
Appreciating the author’s efforts, Mr Tiwari congratulated Srivastava and extended his best wishes for the book.
Meanwhile, author Murli Manohar Srivastava said the book would be useful not only to readers interested in political and social issues but also to students preparing for competitive examinations.
The book presents, in simple language, various aspects of the Prime Minister’s public life, his journey of public service, decisions taken in the national interest, and major welfare schemes, he said.
Srivastava, who has previously authored biographies of Ustad Bismillah Khan and Veer Kunwar Singh, besides books such as ‘Vikas Purush’ and ‘Vande Mataram’, said ‘Modi Yug Ka Bharat – Viksit Desh Ka Sankalp’, published by Pangram Publishers, Delhi, is intended as a reference work for the younger generation, policymakers and researchers seeking to understand contemporary India.
According to Srivastava, the book does not simply revisit familiar accounts of the Prime Minister. Instead, it seeks to highlight what the author describes as the positive aspects of Modi’s 12-year tenure and familiarise the younger generation with his vision of a developed India by 2047.
The book begins with the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme, launched in October 2014, and traces Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to establish a direct dialogue with the people after assuming office. The author argues that this direct connect helped the government pursue several social reforms and take difficult decisions.
The book discusses major decisions, including legislation against instant triple talaq and the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, while also examining the political and social challenges surrounding them. It covers Modi’s role on the international stage and India’s military responses to terrorism, including the surgical strikes and Operation Sindoor.
The book maintains that, beyond social, religious and international issues, the Prime Minister’s principal focus remains the goal of a developed India by 2047. It highlights his emphasis on increasing women’s participation in the country’s development and presents the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam as an important step in that direction.
Several major initiatives and transformations of the past 12 years are also discussed, including digital expansion, UPI-based cashless transactions, Jan Dhan bank accounts, and the direct transfer of government assistance to beneficiaries.
The book also covers the Swachh Bharat Mission, construction of houses and toilets for the poor, Ayushman Bharat, expansion of connectivity, Vande Bharat trains, and the vision of a bullet-train network.
It also records India’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including vaccine development and production, assistance extended to other countries, and the subsequent recovery of the Indian economy.
