‘Shivrajya - a new era begins’ captivates audience at Pune Festival

Pune, Sep 24 ( UNI) The students of Om Dance Academy presented a dance-drama titled ‘Shivrajya – A New Era Begins’ at Balgandharva Rangmandir here on Wednesday night as part of the 38th Pune Festival, receiving an enthusiastic response from the audience.
The performance, held on Thursday featured 12 dance sequences and involved around 90 student artistes. The concept and choreography were by Omkar Shinde of Om Dance Academy, while the presentation was by Chetan Chawda.
The production portrayed the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj through a blend of dance, acting, dialogues, music and dramatic sequences. It traced the journey from the celebration of Shivaji Maharaj’s birth to the coronation ceremony through 12 choreographed presentations.
The narrative also featured conversations involving Bahirji Naik, Jijamata and a contemporary activist, highlighting Shivaji Maharaj’s courage, military strategy, leadership and administrative vision.
The performance included action sequences, emotional moments, humorous dialogues and scenes that drew applause from the audience.
Omkar Shinde coordinated the programme. Pune Festival President Krishnakumar Goel, Chief Coordinator of Cultural Programmes Dr Satish Desai and Trustee Mohan Tillu felicitated the participating artistes. UNI SP AAB
