AAP leader’s nephew killed in road accident in Punjab

Phagwara (Punjab), June 28 (UNI) Taranjit Singh, the nephew of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sajjan Cheema, lost his life after his car collided with a truck on the Goindwal Sahib Road near Bhawanipur village late last night.

Police sources said the incident occurred around 11 pm when a Swift car rammed into a truck belonging to Rana Sugar Mills. Taranjit Singh died on the spot.

Taranjit was known locally as the nephew of Sajjan Cheema, who currently serves as the AAP’s constituency in-charge for Sultanpur Lodhi.

SHO Kirpal Singh said the truck driver fled the scene immediately after the collision. The police have seized both vehicles and have begun an investigation.

Taranjit Singh’s body has been sent to the civil hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination. Police are continuing their search for the absconding truck driver.
