AP Government moving forward with ‘Build AP’ mantra: CM Naidu

New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said the Andhra Pradesh government is moving forward with 'Build AP’ mantra with the objective of making the State the country’s most preferred destination for investments and employment generation.

Participating in the CII Partnership Summit-2026 Curtain Raiser programme, along with union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, the Chief Minister asserted that MoUs worth Rs 13.50 lakh crore were signed at last year’s Partnership Summit and that the State had secured investments worth Rs 22 lakh crore over the past 28 months.

“Leading companies such as Google, with a 1 GW data centre and ArcelorMittal are setting up projects in Andhra Pradesh. As announced earlier, the industrial incentives escrow account will be launched on November 12 and 13 this year,” he announced.

Naidu noted that the NALA Act, which had been an impediment to investments, had been repealed. He highlighted that AP is ready to immediately implement any policy that contributes to the State’s growth. CM Naidu observed that the government was working to transform Rayalaseema into a Global Horticulture Hub and make AP a gateway to Southeast Asia.

“Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited has come forward to establish a shipbuilding centre at Dugarajapatnam, while Goa Shipyard has agreed to set up a shipbuilding facility at Machilipatnam. Drone and electronics clusters have been established at Tirupati, Lepakshi and Kopparthi,” Naidu explained.

The Defence Ministry had also initiated a fifth-generation fighter jet project in Rayalaseema, he added. CM Naidu requested the union Government to establish an international-standard convention centre for hosting CII Partnership Summits.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal appreciated Andhra Pradesh for playing a crucial role in India’s development journey.
Goyal recalled that the coins used during the Satavahana rulers, who ruled from Amaravati, carried a ship symbol, reflecting the region’s maritime trade links with the world even in ancient times, adding that the ship symbol represented Indian commerce, confidence and ideas.

“Andhra Pradesh remained a destination associated with entrepreneurs and industrialists. Mr. Naidu is a visionary leader who embraced technology as early as 1998 and created extensive opportunities in the State,” Goyal said.

Piyush Goyal said that the Centre and States were working together as Team India for the country’s development and that AP was attracting major investments by making use of opportunities created by the Centre.
