Ayodhya: For the first time, Deepotsav procession to showcase Ramlila’s ‘Solah Shringar’

Ayodhya, Oct 31 (UNI) On the occasion of the 10th Deepotsav, Ayodhya will witness a grand procession featuring Ramlila’s ‘Solah Shringar’ for the first time.
Of the 21 tableaux set to roll out from Saket Mahavidyalaya, 14 will showcase the achievements of the Yogi Adityanath government through the Information Department, while the Tourism and Culture Department will present seven tableaux based on the seven Kandas of Ramcharitmanas.
The tableaux are being prepared on the Saket Mahavidyalaya campus. For the first time, 16 teams from Ayodhya will perform Ramlila as part of the procession.
Folk art forms and dance performances from different states across the country will further enhance the grandeur of the procession. Haryana’s Phag and Kerala’s Kathakali will be among the special attractions of the event.
With the objective of taking the Yogi government’s development journey to the people during Deepotsav, the Information Department will present 14 attractive tableaux.
These will creatively showcase the government's achievements in sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, tourism and cultural development in Uttar Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the Tourism and Culture Department is preparing tableaux based on the seven Kandas of Ramcharitmanas: Bal Kand, Ayodhya Kand, Aranya Kand, Kishkindha Kand, Sundar Kand, Lanka Kand and Uttar Kand.
The task of making these tableaux visually appealing and technologically advanced has been entrusted to a designated company. The tableaux will offer an impressive visual experience.
Ashutosh Dwivedi, Adviser and Officer on Special Duty at the Ayodhya International Ramayana and Vedic Research Institute, said, "16 teams from Ayodhya would present a unique blend of cultural diversity during the procession. The tradition of ‘Solah Shringar’ will be showcased as a special feature."
During Deepotsav, folk art forms from 14 states, along with 11 teams from Uttar Pradesh, will add vibrant cultural colours to the celebrations.
Haryana’s Phag, Kerala’s Kathakali, Rajasthan’s Ghoomar, Punjab’s Bhangra, Odisha’s Sambalpuri, Ghazipur’s Dibiya dance, and folk art forms from West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh will be among the major attractions of the grand event.
More than 650 artistes are expected to captivate audiences with their colourful performances.
District Information Officer Anurag Ranjan said, "The tableaux presented by the Information Department would focus particularly on the major transformations brought about during the Yogi government's tenure.
"These will highlight the expansion of roads, electricity and water infrastructure, healthcare facilities, improvements in the education system, development of tourist destinations and preservation of cultural heritage."
The Culture Department's tableaux will depict the stories from each Kanda of Ramcharitmanas, enabling visitors to witness the complete narrative, from Balkand to Uttarkand, in a sequential visual presentation.
Preparations for this year's event are more elaborate and organised than ever before.
Modern technology is being employed in the construction of the tableaux to ensure that they remain visually appealing at night and look even more spectacular under the glow of diyas.
Deepotsav in Ayodhya has now evolved beyond a local celebration. It has become a platform to showcase Uttar Pradesh's cultural strength and development model before audiences across the country and around the world.
This year's procession will not only take the tradition of Ramlila to new heights but will also serve as an important medium for bringing the Yogi government's achievements to the people.
