Bihar: Anganwadi, a centre for nutrition, health and early education: Saraogi

Patna, Oct 1 (UNI) BJP Bihar president Sanjay Saraogi today said Anganwadi centres are not merely places for child nutrition and early care but serve as important centres for laying the foundation for a better future for mothers, children and families.
An ‘Aangan Milan Seva’ programme was organised at an Anganwadi centre at NTPC, Ashiana Nagar, under Vikas Mandal in the Digha Assembly constituency as part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public life.
Saraogi attended the programme along with Digha MLA and BJP chief whip in the Bihar Assembly Sanjeev Chaurasia, state vice-presidents Pawan Jaiswal and Shobha Singh, party office-bearers and workers, besides Anganwadi workers and helpers, parents and children.
Saraogi extended his greetings to the families participating in the ceremonies and wished the children a healthy and bright future. He also appreciated the work of Anganwadi worker Rita and helper Rinku, along with other workers associated with the centre.
The BJP state president said Anganwadi centres provide children with nutrition, healthcare and early education, while also offering mothers essential information and support. He said Anganwadi workers and helpers establish direct contact with children, mothers and families by visiting households and play an important role in building the foundation for children''s healthy development.
Saraogi said Prime Minister Modi has recognised the contribution of Anganwadi workers and helpers and has sent them a letter and a book.
Saraogi said children currently attending Anganwadi centres would become young adults by 2047 and would play a role in the country''s development at that time. Better nutrition, healthcare and early education, he said, would be important in preparing them for their future responsibilities.
He urged Anganwadi workers and helpers to discharge their duties with honesty and dedication.
The BJP leader said service by soldiers guarding the country''s borders was an important expression of patriotism, but people could also contribute to nation-building by performing their responsibilities in their respective fields with honesty and dedication.
He called upon Anganwadi personnel to carry forward their work related to children and mothers with commitment.
