Congress Spreading Confusion Over SIR After Electoral Defeats: Darshana Singh

Palampur, Oct 26 (UNI) BJP Himachal Pradesh co-incharge and Rajya Sabha MP Darshana Singh on Monday accused the Congress of spreading confusion over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls out of frustration over repeated electoral defeats.
Addressing a BJP organizational meeting in Palampur, she alleged that the Himachal Pradesh government was misusing official machinery and public resources to mobilize support for the Congress rally in Delhi.
Singh said every eligible citizen must be included in the voters' list and stressed that transparency and accuracy in electoral rolls were essential for strengthening democracy. She also accused the Congress of double standards in its criticism of the Election Commission.
She announced that around 3,000 workers and citizens from Palampur would participate in the BJP's “Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy” padyatra in Dharamshala on October 30. The march would highlight issues related to democratic values, law and order and public interest, she said.
The meeting discussed organizational strengthening, booth-level coordination and preparations for the proposed march.
Sulah MLA and former Assembly Speaker Vipin Singh Parmar, BJP spokesperson Trilok Kapoor and other party leaders and workers attended the meeting. UNI AR CDS
