CPI-M's 'error correction' meet is like a mountain giving birth to a rat: BJP leader K. Surendran

Kozhikode, Sep 16 (UNI) BJP national secretary K. Surendran on Wednesday strongly criticized the CPI-M’s recent error-correction efforts, dismissing them as a "cheap trick" to deceive both the public and party workers.

Speaking to reporters in Kozhikode on Wednesday, Surendran mocked the CPI-M’s error-correction initiatives, describing the underwhelming results as "a mountain giving birth to a rat."
He pointed out that a similar plenum was held in 2013 where guidelines were issued, only to be completely violated later.
He questioned the CPI-M's true stance on corruption, specifically asking if any rectifications were made regarding allegations of the former Chief Minister's family accepting bribes.
The BJP leader also questioned P.A. Mohamed Riyas' remarks, alleging that the "Red Book" actually contains future business plans, and demanded to know the source of that money.
Furthermore, he asked why the CPI-M had failed to intervene in the Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) controversy and why the strict stance once taken in the Kodiyeri Balakrishnan issue was absent here.
Questioning the party's disciplinary actions, Surendran asked if sidelining Thomas Isaac for criticizing Pinarayi Vijayan, or removing an uncorrupt leader like T.P. Ramakrishnan, counted as genuine "error correction."
He warned that the CPI-M in Kerala would face the same downfall as it did in West Bengal and Tripura, adding that the BJP’s doors remain open to anyone who is not corrupt.
Surendran also mocked the CPI-M’s document proposing closer interactions with temples, calling them "temple thieves" whom no one would trust.
He stated that party members visiting temples undercover would not win them votes.
