DSS Imagetech expands access to incision-free TULSA-PRO prostate cancer therapy via KIMS Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Oct 22 (UNI) Medical technology provider DSS Imagetech on Thursday highlighted the clinical footprint of the TULSA-PRO system in India, an advanced MRI-guided, incision-free, and radiation-free intervention designed for the targeted ablation of diseased prostate tissue.
Manufactured by Canada-based Profound Medical Corp and brought exclusively to India by DSS Imagetech, the platform is currently operational at KIMS Hospitals, Hyderabad—the first and sole healthcare facility in India and South Asia offering the treatment.
The US FDA-cleared system combines real-time Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) with robotically driven transurethral ultrasound thermal energy, the company said in a release.
Under continuous thermal and anatomical MRI monitoring, physicians ablate targeted malignant lesions from the inside out while sparing delicate neurovascular bundles and surrounding structures critical for urinary continence and erectile function.
Anish Kaushal, Business Head (Medical Division) at DSS Imagetech Pvt Ltd and spokesperson for TULSA-PRO, emphasized that greater awareness of minimally invasive modalities allows patients to make informed therapeutic choices without compromising their quality of life.
"When healthcare providers and companies transparently share technological advances in prostate cancer care, patients are better equipped to make informed decisions," Kaushal said.
"With its targeted approach, TULSA-PRO supports recovery while helping eligible patients preserve urinary continence and functional erections, enabling them to return to their daily routines faster," Kaushal added.
Clinical teams noted that over its first year of deployment in India, the technology has demonstrated significantly lower complication rates, shorter hospital stays, and quicker recovery times compared to conventional radical prostatectomy or external beam radiation therapy.
