ECoR to run special trains on key routes to manage festive rush

Bhubaneswar, Sep 24 (UNI) The East Coast Railway (ECoR) will operate additional special trains on important routes during the upcoming Durga Puja and Diwali festive season to facilitate passenger travel and clear the anticipated rush.
ECoR sources said Train No. 08405 Puri–Santragachi Puja Special will run every Monday from October 5 to October 26, while Train No. 08406 Santragachi–Puri Puja Special will operate every Tuesday from October 6 to October 27.
Train No. 08405 will leave Puri at 17:45 hours and reach Santragachi at 03:45 hours the following day. In the return direction, Train No. 08406 will depart Santragachi at 08:45 hours and arrive at Puri at 19:00 hours.
The trains will have stoppages at Sakhigopal, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Baleshwar, Rupsa, Jaleswar, Belda and Kharagpur.
The Puri–Santragachi special will comprise 18 LHB coaches, including one AC 2-Tier, three AC 3-Tier, eight Sleeper Class and four General Class coaches, besides a luggage-cum-generator-cum-brake van equipped with two Divyang-friendly facilities.
Similarly, Train No. 08043 Shalimar–Khurda Road Puja Special will run every Monday from October 12 to November 9, while Train No. 08044 Khurda Road–Shalimar Puja Special will operate every Tuesday from October 13 to November 10.
Train No. 08043 will depart Shalimar at 17:55 hours and arrive at Khurda Road at 02:45 hours the next day. In the return direction, Train No. 08044 will leave Khurda Road at 06:45 hours and reach Shalimar at 15:00 hours.
The Shalimar–Khurda Road special will have stoppages at Santragachi, Kharagpur, Baleshwar, Rupsa Junction, Bhadrak, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
The train will comprise 22 ICF coaches, including two AC 2-Tier, six AC 3-Tier, eight Sleeper Class and four General Class coaches, besides a luggage-cum-generator-cum-brake van with two Divyang-friendly facilities.
ECoR advised passengers to check the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or use official railway enquiry services before commencing their journey.
