EPFO Kochi ranks fourth nationally, tops Kerala in employee enrolment campaign

Kochi, Nov 5 (UNI) The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Regional Office, Kochi, has secured the fourth rank nationally and the first position in Kerala in the Employees’ Enrolment Campaign, 2026, by enrolling more than 2,000 employees through 195 establishments.
As part of the nationwide campaign, the regional office also succeeded in bringing 29 previously uncovered establishments under the EPF social security framework, extending provident fund, pension and life insurance benefits to a larger section of the workforce.
The newly enrolled employees will be eligible for benefits under the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS) and Employees’ Deposit-Linked Insurance (EDLI), which provides insurance coverage of up to Rs 7 lakh.
Launched by the Central Government under the Code on Social Security, 2020, the campaign was aimed at identifying eligible employees who had remained outside the social security system and facilitating their enrolment. It also enabled establishments to voluntarily regularise the coverage of such employees in accordance with the statutory provisions.
The achievement was the result of coordinated efforts by enforcement officers and administrative staff of the Kochi regional office, supported by the cooperation of establishments and their representatives.
Though the campaign concluded on October 31, establishments intending to extend EPF coverage to eligible employees can approach the EPFO offices at Kochi, Thrissur and Alappuzha for guidance and assistance on statutory coverage.
The initiative marks a significant step towards expanding social security protection and ensuring wider access to long-term financial security for employees in the region.
