Ex-Minister Ambati Rambabu slams AP Govt. for unlawful arrests

Guntur, May 17 (UNI) Opposition YSRCP senior leader and former Minister Ambati Rambabu has come down heavily on the Chandrababu Naidu-headed coalition government in Andhra Pradesh for resorting to a disturbing pattern of unlawful arrests of opposition leaders and public servants.

Ex-Minister Ambati Rambabu strongly condemned these actions, asserting that the government’s tenure has been marked by oppression rather than progress. “The Naidu-headed coalition’s rule is defined by illegal arrests, not governance. From political leaders to IAS, IPS officers, no one is spared from fabricated cases and detentions,” Rambabu flayed.

The arrests of retired IAS officer Dhanunjaya Reddy and former OSD Krishna Mohan Reddy, who served in Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy governance, exemplify this vendetta. These actions mirror past tactics by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who, in collusion with the Congress party, previously imprisoned YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on baseless charges.

“The arrests of Dhanunjaya Reddy and Krishna Mohan Reddy are steeped in political conspiracy. This is a deliberate attempt to suppress dissent and distract from the government’s failures,” Ambati Rambabu lashed out.

“Chandrababu’s history of vindictive politics is well-known. His current actions stem from personal grudges, including his own imprisonment in the skill development scam, prompting him to target YSRCP leaders and officials,” Rambabu alleged. Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh are misusing their authority. The Government is using these arrests as a diversion from unfulfilled promises, such as the ‘Ammavodi’ and other welfare schemes, which remain in demand among the public, the YSRCP leader pointed out.

Rambabu vowed to fight these injustices through legal avenues. “We will not be intimidated by illegal cases. Our battle will be waged in the courts, and we will expose this misuse of power,” he affirmed. He called on the people of Andhra Pradesh to recognize the coalition’s tactics and stand against this erosion of democratic values.
