Four arrested for stocking e-cigarettes in the heart of Kolkata

Kolkata, Sep 17 (UNI) Four persons have been arrested on charges of illegally stocking e-cigarettes—specifically at a shop on Park Street in the heart of Kolkata.
On Wednesday evening, a team from the Detective Department (DD) conducted a raid at the establishment.
According to police sources, e-cigarettes were being illegally stocked and sold at the shop located at 191, Park Street. The raid was carried out following a tip-off. A large quantity of e-cigarettes was recovered and seized during the operation.
Those arrested have been identified as Mohammad Rifaiz (22), Abdul Hakim K (28), Ahmed Masud (21), and Mohammad Ejaz (40). Police sources revealed that while the first three hail from Kerala and Karnataka, they also have links to an address on Linton Street within the jurisdiction of the Beniapukur Police Station. The fourth accused, Ejaz, is a resident of the Ripon Street area in Kolkata.
A case regarding the incident was registered at the Beniapukur Police Station on Wednesday. Police stated that the quantity of seized e-cigarettes and other materials is currently being examined. The four accused were scheduled to be produced before the ACJM Court in Sealdah today.
The police have initiated an investigation and are looking into whether others are involved in the illegal stocking and sale of e-cigarettes. UNI BGA NST CDS
