Haryana bags investment proposals worth over Rs 50,000 crore as Saini concludes Gujarat roadshow

Kamlesh Kali
Ahmedabad, Oct 28 (UNI) Haryana has secured investment proposals exceeding Rs 50,000 crore across defence, semiconductors, real estate, energy and other key sectors during Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's two-day Gujarat visit, the state government announced on Wednesday, marking a major push to expand its industrial and manufacturing base.
The investment commitments, formalised through a series of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with industrial groups, followed intensive negotiations and one-on-one meetings with business leaders in Surat and Gandhinagar.
According to the government, agreements signed on Wednesday included proposed investments of approximately Rs 25,000 crore in defence, real estate and oil and gas, Rs 2,900 crore in semiconductors and Rs 1,400 crore in agriculture and food processing.
Additional agreements covered compressed biogas and civil aviation, while the first day of the Gujarat outreach had yielded investment proposals worth nearly Rs 12,000 crore.
The scale of the proposed investments underscores Haryana's efforts to attract high-value manufacturing, advanced technology and industrial infrastructure projects as it seeks to strengthen its position in India's industrial landscape.
Addressing industrialists at the Haryana Investment Roadshow in Gandhinagar, Saini urged Gujarat-based companies to make Haryana part of their future expansion strategies.
"I urge all of you to include Haryana in your business expansion plans for the next two to five years," Saini said.
The Chief Minister assured investors that his government would facilitate industrial projects through simplified approvals, transparent procedures, digital services and a single-window clearance system.
He highlighted Haryana's strategic proximity to the National Capital Region, industrial infrastructure, transport connectivity and skilled workforce as major advantages for companies seeking to establish or expand manufacturing operations.
Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh accompanied the Chief Minister during the investor engagements.
The government said the proposed projects could generate substantial employment opportunities, encourage technology-driven manufacturing and diversify Haryana's industrial economy.
However, the investment figures represent proposed commitments under MoUs rather than capital already deployed, and their eventual implementation will depend on project approvals and execution.
The Gujarat outreach forms part of Haryana's broader industrial strategy, under which the state is targeting investments worth Rs 5 lakh crore and the creation of more than 10 lakh employment opportunities by 2030-31.
Saini also invited investors to participate in the proposed Happening Haryana Global Summit in April 2027, which the state government intends to use as a platform for expanding industrial partnerships and attracting domestic and international capital.
Senior officials, including Chief Principal Secretary Rajesh Khullar, Industries and Commerce Commissioner Amit Agrawal and HSIIDC Managing Director Yash Garg, participated in the discussions.
