Haryana BJP bids farewell to outgoing leaders, welcomes Pawan Rana as organisation General Secretary

Panchkula, Oct1 (UNI) The Haryana BJP on Thursday organised a thanksgiving and felicitation ceremony for its outgoing organisational leaders and welcomed Pawan Rana as the party’s new State General Secretary (Organisation), following a recent organisational reshuffle. Rana has been given charge of Haryana in addition to Delhi.
The programme at the party’s state headquarters, Panchkamal, honoured former Haryana in-charge Satish Poonia, outgoing General Secretary (Organisation) Phanindranath Sharma and former co-in-charge Surendra Nagar for their work in the state.
Senior BJP leader and former Haryana Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu described the event as an “organisational festival”, saying changes in responsibilities were a natural process in a cadre-based party.
“BJP is an organisation of workers, and a change in the responsibilities of workers is a natural process,” Abhimanyu said.
He credited Poonia, Sharma and Nagar with guiding, encouraging and motivating the Haryana unit during their tenure, and linked their organisational work to the BJP forming a government in Haryana for a third consecutive term.
Following the reshuffle, Poonia has been assigned charge of Punjab, while Sharma has been moved to Uttarakhand. Pawan Rana has taken over the organisational responsibility in Haryana while continuing to hold the corresponding charge in Delhi. Smriti Irani has been named Haryana in-charge and Bhola Singh co-in-charge. Amar Ujala
Abhimanyu said the new leadership would bring fresh energy to the Haryana organisation and expressed confidence that party workers would further strengthen the organisation under Rana.
Responding to Opposition criticism over procurement arrangements in Haryana’s mandis, Abhimanyu said the system had improved substantially since the BJP came to power and accused the Opposition of raising the issue merely for the sake of protest.
“The crop arriving in the mandis is being sold properly and both farmers and commission agents are satisfied,” he claimed.
He said payments for procured crops were being transferred directly into farmers’ bank accounts and added that the Nayab Singh Saini government was continuously working to improve arrangements in the mandis.
Abhimanyu also hit back at the Congress over its allegations of “vote theft”, pointing to internal differences within the opposition party.
Referring to past Rajya Sabha elections and the ongoing factional tussle in the Haryana Congress, he said Congress leaders were openly speaking against one another.
Without naming former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Abhimanyu also referred to the “elbow” remark made in the context of internal political rivalry and said Congress should first look within its own organisation.
“The Congress should introspect. It should worry about the pickpocketing taking place among its own ranks,” Abhimanyu said.UNI KK AAB
