Haryana Police warns Gurugram hotels, dhabas against drugs, illegal activities

Panchkula, Sep 29 (UNI) Haryana Police on Tuesday directed hotel, dhaba and guest house operators in Gurugram to strictly adhere to prescribed closing timings and warned them against allowing liquor, narcotics, immoral trafficking or other illegal activities on their premises.
A Haryana Police spokesperson said here today that the Station House Officer of City Police Station, Gurugram, held a special meeting with operators of hotels, dhabas and guest houses as part of measures to strengthen security and maintain a safe and crime-free environment.
The spokesperson said operators were told to run their establishments strictly according to timings prescribed by the administration and ensure mandatory closure at the stipulated time.
They were also directed not to permit the consumption of liquor or any intoxicating or narcotic substance on their premises.
“Operators have been asked to immediately inform the police if any person arrives under the influence of intoxicants or creates a disturbance,” the spokesperson said.
Police issued strict instructions to prevent immoral trafficking, suspicious activities and other illegal acts at hotels, dhabas and guest houses and asked operators to immediately alert the local police if they notice any such activity.
The spokesperson said operators were told that compliance with the prescribed rules and timely sharing of information with police were essential to prevent criminal and drug-related activities.
Haryana Police also sought cooperation from the establishments in its efforts to keep the area safe, crime-free and drug-free, the spokesperson added.
