Panchkula cooperative bank posts Rs 64.84 lakh profit, sets Rs 1 crore target as bad loans decline

Panchkula, Sep 29 (UNI) Panchkula Central Cooperative Bank posted a net profit of Rs 64.84 lakh in 2025-26, cut its gross non-performing assets and recorded a Rs 20-crore increase in deposits, as the district cooperative lender set a Rs 1-crore profit target for the current financial year.
The bank's gross NPA declined to 3.92 per cent from 4 per cent, while its audit grade improved to B from B, officials said at the bank's 31st Annual General Meeting held at its Sector 2 headquarters here on Tuesday.
Deposits increased to Rs 345.14 crore as on March 31, 2026, from Rs 325.14 crore a year earlier, an increase of about 6.15 per cent. Outstanding loans stood at Rs 345.38 crore and working capital at Rs 516.09 crore during 2025-26.
General Manager Yashveer Singh, who presented the annual report, said the bank has now set a target of earning Rs 1 crore in net profit during 2026-27, requiring a substantial increase over the previous year's earnings. In another move aimed at expanding banking access, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS) services through micro-ATMs will soon be introduced at all 12 branches of the cooperative bank.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Vivek Arya, who chaired the AGM, said the micro-ATM facility would enable customers of any bank to withdraw money from their accounts. He said a committee would also be constituted to examine problems concerning the bank's branches and action would be taken on its recommendations. The bank offers personal, vehicle, housing, dairy and education loans besides joint liability group loans and cash credit limits.
The AGM also reviewed the digitalisation of the district's Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS). Ten of Panchkula's 11 PACS have been fully computerised, while the societies are also functioning as Common Service Centres in rural areas and providing digital services.
