Haryana targets doubling exports to $40 billion in 5 Years

Gurugram, Nov 3 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday set a target of doubling the state's exports over the next five years, banking on India's Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) to expand global market access for industries, MSMEs and agricultural products.
Addressing a state-level workshop on leveraging FTAs through a video message, Saini said Haryana's merchandise exports had crossed USD 20 billion in 2025-26, making it the country's sixth-largest exporting state.
The workshop was inaugurated by Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh at the Hotel Grand Hyatt here.
Saini said the Haryana Progressive MSME and Export Promotion Policy-2026 aims to double exports in five years, with provisions to connect small businesses, first-time exporters, women entrepreneurs and rural producers with international markets.
He said the Make in Haryana Industrial Policy-2026 also provides export-linked incentives for large industries.
The Chief Minister highlighted Haryana's export sectors, including automobiles and IT in Gurugram, engineering goods in Faridabad, home textiles in Panipat, basmati rice in Karnal, footwear in Jhajjar and scientific instruments in Ambala.
He said the India-UK FTA had opened new opportunities for Haryana's textile, garment and footwear industries, urging exporters to focus on international quality standards, tariff concessions and rules of origin.
Rao Narbir Singh said industrial expansion and higher exports were crucial to achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat-2047. He added that more than 70 per cent of suggestions from industrialists had been incorporated into the state's new industrial and MSME policies.
Additional Secretary in the union Commerce Department Nitin Kumar Yadav said FTAs had opened opportunities in markets such as the European Union, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.
Industries and Commerce Commissioner and Secretary Amit Kumar Agrawal said sector-specific programmes would be organised across districts and district-level Export Development Plans would be prepared to address exporters' needs.
The workshop was organised by Haryana's MSME Directorate in collaboration with the union Commerce Department, DGFT and ITPO. Officials, exporters and industry representatives attended.
