No permit is required for transportation of cattle within UP: Alld HC

Prayagraj, Nov 3 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court has clarified that no permit is required for transporting cattle within Uttar Pradesh, delivering a significant ruling in a case concerning the seizure of cattle.
The court held that the presumption of cow slaughter based solely on the seizure of a vehicle in a border district was legally incorrect.
Justice Sandeep Jain delivered this ruling after hearing Neshar Shah's petition, presented by his advocate Vipin Kumar Singh and the government lawyer.
The Mirzapur administration's order to seize a Mahindra Bolero pickup was declared completely arbitrary, and the state government was ordered to compensate the vehicle owner for the loss of his livelihood and mental torture.
