Heavy rainfalls: Tourism activities suspended in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, May 25 (UNI) Tourism activities have been suspended in many major tourism destinations due to heavy rains in Kerala.
All water-related, trekking, and adventure tourism activities have been banned in Idukki district, which is one of the major tourist destinations of the State.
Boating, Kayaking, Rafting, Coracle (kuttavanchi) rafting, Trekking have been banned in Idukki and places like Munnar's Mattupetty Dam.
Night travel has been banned from 7 PM to 7 AM in hilly areas till May 27.
Entry restricted to river banks, beaches and waterfalls in Kozhikode and Keralamkundu waterfalls in Nilambur. Tourists are also advised not to visit Adyanpara, Karuvarakundu, Paithalmala Eco-Tourism Center in Kannur, Edakkal cave, Kappil-Poovar in Thiruvananthapuram, Alappad-Edava in Kollam, Chellanam to Azhikkal Jetty in Alappuzha, Munambam to Maruvakkad coastal areas, Attupuram to Kodungallur coastal areas, Kadalundi Nagar to Palapetty in Malappuram, Chombala to Ramanattukara in Kozhikode, Valapattanam to New Mahe in Kannur and Kunchathur to Kottakunnu in Kasaragod.
