HP: Chambi Stadium construction gains pace, modern sports facilities to be ready soon: K S Pathania

Shahpur (Kangra), Sep 26 (UNI) Construction of the Chambi Stadium in Shahpur is progressing at a fast pace and modern sports facilities are expected to be made available to players within the next two to two-and-a-half months, Deputy Chief Whip and Shahpur MLA Kewal Singh Pathania said on Saturday.
Pathania visited the Chambi ground and reviewed the ongoing construction work besides interacting with young sportspersons.
He said around Rs 20 lakh had been spent on the stadium’s retaining wall, while work was underway on the pavilion block, players’ restrooms, bathrooms, changing rooms and other facilities.
The stadium would provide a better platform for sporting talent in Shahpur, while providing modern sports infrastructure to youth is a priority of the state government, he said.
Pathania also congratulated Himachal Pradesh players Pushpa Rana, Ritu Negi, Jyoti Thakur and Bhavana Thakur for their performance as members of the Indian women’s kabaddi team at the Asian Games.
He congratulated Chamba’s Seema Kumari for winning bronze in the women’s 10,000-metre race, saying the achievements of Himachal’s sportspersons would inspire the state’s youth.
