HP: Nutrition awareness camp held at Balu Gloa

Kangra, Sep 23 (UNI) A block-level awareness camp was organised at Balu Gloa on Wednesday under the National Nutrition Month 2026 campaign on the theme “Our Anganwadi, Our Responsibility”.
The campaign is being observed from September 9 to October 8 to promote awareness about balanced nutrition, maternal and child health, prevention of malnutrition, hygiene and services available through Anganwadi centres.
Dr Nitesh Manhas highlighted the importance of breastfeeding, complementary feeding after six months, regular health check-ups, immunisation and monitoring of children's growth.
Health and ICDS officials also sensitised participants about personal hygiene, safe drinking water, food safety and Anganwadi services, including early childhood care and education and nutrition monitoring.
Child Development Project Officer Sandeep Bagga said preventing malnutrition was a collective responsibility of families, communities and government departments.
He urged people to ensure nutritious diets, regular health checks and proper hygiene for children and mothers.
Local representatives, including Balu Gloa Pradhan Bhawani Shankar and former Pradhan Kamlesh Devi, Anganwadi and ASHA workers, health officials, women, children and other residents participated in the camp.

Haryana transport department assistant caught taking Rs 2 lakh bribe
