Jammu accounts for 5.04 lakh of 5.73 lakh ST-II certificates issued in J&K

Srinagar, Sep 24 (UNI) Jammu division accounts for 5,04,007 of the 5,73,667 Scheduled Tribe-II (ST-II) certificates issued across Jammu and Kashmir, while 69,660 certificates have been issued in the Kashmir division, the Jammu and Kashmir Government informed the Legislative Assembly on Thursday.
The information was provided by J&K Chief Minister, who is the minister in charge of Revenue in response to a question raised by BJP legislator Narinder Singh Raina regarding the issuance of ST-II certificates to eligible members of the Pahari ethnic groups residing in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the official reply, a total of 5,73,667 ST-II certificates have been issued across Jammu and Kashmir.
In the Kashmir division, Baramulla recorded 29,635 certificates, while Srinagar accounted for 46, Budgam 336, Pulwama 836, Ganderbal 1,018, Kulgam 347, Kupwara 34,224, Bandipora 193, Shopian 1,735 and Anantnag 1,290.
The department's figures put the total for the districts listed under the Kashmir division at 69,660 certificates.
In the Jammu division, Rajouri recorded the highest number with 3,01,091 certificates, followed by Poonch with 1,85,435 certificates and Kishtwar with 17,304 certificates.
The figures for the other districts were considerably lower, with Jammu recording 140 certificates, Udhampur seven, Ramban two, Samba one and Doda three certificates. UNI MJR SAS
