JD(U) plans to contest Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls as NDA constituent: Nishant Kumar

Chandauli, Nov 1 (UNI) The Janata Dal (United), a ruling coalition partner of NDA in Bihar, is preparing to expand its organisational presence in Uttar Pradesh and contest the upcoming Assembly elections, Bihar Health Minister Nishant Kumar said on Sunday.
Nishant Kumar also expressed his party's desire to contest the elections as a constituent of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Speaking to the media in Mughalsarai, Nishant Kumar, son of JD(U) president and former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, said the party's organisational presence is not limited to Bihar but extended to other parts of the country, including the northeastern states.
He visited Mughalsarai to meet local party workers and step up organisational activities in the region. He said the party would also focus on strengthening its political base in Uttar Pradesh.
During his interaction with workers, Nishant Kumar urged them to carry forward his father's ideology and principles. He emphasised the need for regular communication with party workers and greater grassroots-level engagement to expand the organisation.
His remarks have brought the JD(U)'s political plans in Uttar Pradesh into focus, particularly in the Purvanchal region, where discussions over possible electoral alliances are likely to gain attention ahead of the Assembly elections.
The party's proposed organisational expansion and its plans to contest as part of the NDA will be closely watched in the run-up to the polls.
