Kavitha gives Telangana Govt one-month to act against illegal constructions in Hyd

Hyderabad, Nov 5 (UNI) Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) president K Kavitha on Thursday accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his family members of encouraging illegal constructions and land irregularities in Hyderabad, particularly in Ayyappa Society and Khanamet, for financial gains.
Addressing the media at the TRS office in Banjara Hills, she alleged that 500 to 700 unauthorised buildings had come up in Khanamet since the Congress government assumed office, with nearly 80 more under construction.
She raised concerns over illegal registrations through notarised documents, unauthorised multi-storey buildings and serious fire safety violations, warning of potential disasters.
Alleging encroachment of 150 acres belonging to Gurukul Trust, she demanded a comprehensive survey, action against unauthorised buildings, an inquiry into property registrations and enforcement of the High Court order prohibiting construction in the area.
She also alleged illegal projects along the Musi riverbed and intimidation of media personnel covering the issue.
Giving the government one month's deadline to act, Kavitha warned that her party would mark illegal structures in red if authorities failed to take action. She also said around 18,000 RTI applications were pending in the State and demanded disclosure of information on the Ayyappa Society issue.
Reacting to union Home Minister Amit Shah's Hyderabad visit, she criticised the Centre for failing to provide assistance to Telangana despite drought conditions in 320 mandals. She also questioned the Centre's claims about 13 crore foreigners in the country.
Kavitha further criticised the State government over its handling of drought, water availability and power shortages, alleging a lack of coordination between the Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao over crop advisories.
She appealed to women voters to register for the graduate constituency elections and support the TRS.
