Kerala's 35 railway stations being renovated at a cost of Rs 2560 crore: BJP Chief

Thiruvananthapuram, May 22 (UNI) Kerala BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Thursday said 35 railway stations across the state are being renovated at a cost of Rs 2,560 crore under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

"In the last Union Budget, the Modi Government allocated Rs 3,042 crore for railway development in Kerala, as against the average annual allocation of Rs 372 crore under the UPA regime."

"Among the 35 stations, the Chirayinkeezhu and Vadakara stations are set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday," he said

These upgraded stations will feature expanded passenger waiting areas, hygienic toilets, elevators, escalators, free Wi-Fi, and other modern amenities. A notable feature of the project is the "One Station, One Product" kiosks, which will promote and sell local products, he said.

He also said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government is moving forward with comprehensive efforts to create world-class infrastructure for a 'VikasitaKeralam.'
