Kerala sees unprecedented growth under PM Modi's leadership : BJP President

Thiruvananthapurm, May 1 (UNI) Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kerala’s infrastructure development is witnessing an unprecedented growth, former Union Minister and State BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar said on Thursday.
"The state's National Highway network has expanded from 1,182 km in 2014 to 1,858 km today, now spanning 12 highways," he said in a Facebook post.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had announced Rs 3 lakh crore worth of road projects, including key industrial corridors such as Mumbai–Kanyakumari and Thoothukkudi–Kochi.
The flagship project, the six-laning of 643 km NH66 from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram at a cost of Rs 66,000 crore, is set to be completed by 2026, he said.
Other major works include the Palakkad–Malappuram Greenfield Highway, Thalassery–Mahe bypass, Kollam bypass, Alappuzha bypass, and improved port connectivity under the 'Bharatmala' program and level crossing-free travel under the 'SetuBharatam' program.
"This isn’t just road building—it’s nation-building. Better roads boost economic activity, bring investment and take development to every corner of the country. What was once deemed impossible or stalled for lack of funds is now a reality under Narendra Modi ji’s decisive leadership."
A robust infrastructure is essential to realize the vision of 'VikasitaKeralam.' The NDA government is investing in Kerala’s growth through upgraded highways, world-class ports, modern railway stations, Vande Bharat trains, freight corridors, and more.
This commitment to infrastructure will bring more investments, boost economic activity, create jobs, and transform Kerala.
