Ahmedabad, June 14 (UNI) Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday met the victims of Air India plane crash at the Civil Hospital here and enquired about their well-being.
He also inspected the plane crash site.
Later, while speaking to reporters, Kharge expressed profound sorrow over the tragic incident, paid tribute to the deceased, and offered his heartfelt condolences to their families.
He urged the government to immediately announce compensation for the families of those who lost their lives.
Kharge also expressed his condolences to the families of the medical college students who lost their lives in this accident. He said that some medical students are still undergoing treatment and wished for their speedy recovery.
Responding to a question, the Congress president said that it is not right to blame anyone till the black box report comes, but responsibility should be fixed.
Kharge described the miraculous survival of a person in this accident as a "big miracle" and wished him a speedy recovery.
Kharge was accompanied by party leaders Mukul Wasnik, Naseer Hussain, Pawan Khera, Shaktisinh Gohil and Amit Chavda and others.
