Pune, June 14 (UNI) A grand ‘Warkari Bhakti Yoga’ event will be organised on the initiative of the Maharashtra government for Warkaris (devotees) here on June 21, when the Palkhis (palanquins) of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj will be staying overnight in city.
More than five lakh Warkaris will participate in this event, said State Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil on Saturday.
This event has been organised jointly by the Maharashtra government, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune Municipal Corporation, National Service Scheme, Shrikshetra Alandi, Shrikshetra Dehu, Vidyarthi Vikas Manch.
Patil said, "I believe that through this Bhakti Yoga initiative, students will get first-hand education on life values and the power of public participation, as well as bring about positive changes in social life."
