Maha: Final results of Voice of Pune Festival competition announced

Pune, Sep 20 (UNI) As many as 12 finalists in the final round of the 16th edition of the Sugam Sangeet Competition were declared winners and awarded with prizes here today.
In the below-40 age category, Vaishnavi Pagare from Nashik won the first prize, while Amey Taranikar secured the second position. In the above-40 category, Sanjay Lagu stood first and Chitra Pendharkar secured the second position.
Six students were selected for the final round in the student category. Om Patki of MIT College won the first prize, while Asawari Gudade of Pratibha College, Chinchwad, secured the second position.
MIT College, Loni, D Y Patil College of Commerce, Arts and Science, Pimpri, and Zeal College of Engineering were selected for the inter-collegiate final. MIT College, Loni, retained the Pune Festival rolling trophy, marking its third consecutive year as the winning college.
Superintendent of Police, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Shirish Sardeshpande, attended the programme as the chief guest and presented the prizes. Pune Festival president Krishnakumar Goel presented the first prizes.
The final round of the 16th edition of the Sugam Sangeet Competition, organised as part of the Pune Festival, was held at Balgandharva Rangmandir.
The competition included an inter-collegiate category, which has been conducted for the past three years, along with an open category. A total of 159 participants from 12 colleges and the open category took part in the competition. Of these, 30 participants were selected for the final round.
Senior tabla player Mohan Parasnis and noted vocalists Dr Monica Damle and Devika Damle served as judges for the preliminary and final rounds.
