Maha: One injured as speeding jeep crashes into house in Virar, 2 arrested

Mumbai, Oct 6 (UNI) A 59-year-old man was injured after a speeding jeep went out of control and crashed into the wall of a house at Jambhulpada village in Virar of Palghar district.
Mandvi police have arrested the driver and another person in connection with the accident.
A police officer investigating the incident said on Tuesday that the jeep was travelling from Bhatane towards Bhalivali late on Monday night, when the accident occurred. Police said the driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and driving at high speed in a rash manner.
On reaching Jambhulpada, the vehicle suddenly went out of control near a house. It allegedly crashed through a shed and hit two motorcycles before ramming into the wall of the house. The impact was severe enough to bring down a portion of the wall and a window.
Subhash Jayram Sutar, 59, who was sitting in the hall of the house at the time of the accident, sustained injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
Police arrested the driver, identified as Ankit Ravishankar Mishra, 26, and his companion Raj Indrajit Yadav, 24, in connection with the incident. Further investigation into the accident is underway.
