Mumbai stays hot and humid after Monsoon withdrawal, moderate rain likely

Mumbai, Oct 6 (UNI) Mumbai continued to reel under hot and humid conditions on Tuesday, days after the southwest monsoon withdrew from the city, even as the India Meteorological Department forecast generally cloudy skies and moderate rain during the day.
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature recorded on Tuesday morning was 28 degrees Celsius. The city and its suburbs are likely to remain warm and humid, with limited rainfall activity expected following the monsoon's withdrawal.Temperatures have risen noticeably following the monsoon withdrawal. On Sunday, the Santacruz observatory recorded a maximum of 37.6 degrees Celsius, which was 5 degrees above normal, while Colaba recorded 36.5 degrees Celsius, 4.6 degrees above normal.
With rainfall activity expected to remain limited following the monsoon withdrawal, hot and humid conditions are likely to persist over the coming days, particularly during the afternoon.
Meanwhile, Mumbai's air quality remained in the Moderate category on Tuesday morning, with the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 99.
Under the standard AQI classification, readings from 0 to 50 are considered Good, 51 to 100 Moderate, 101 to 200 Poor, 201 to 300 Unhealthy and above 300 Severe.
