Mumbai Court Rejects Doctor's Anticipatory Bail Plea in Sexual Harassment Case

Mumbai, Nov 2 (UNI) A Sessions Court in Mumbai has rejected the anticipatory bail application of a 43-year-old doctor accused of sexually harassing a female staff member at his diagnostic centre in Borivali, with the prosecution claiming that even the doctor's wife had supported the complainant's allegations.
According to the prosecution, the alleged incident took place in October at the doctor's diagnostic facility in Borivali.
Opposing the allegations, the doctor questioned the complainant's version of events, arguing that the incident was stated to have occurred at around 8.30 am, while the woman remained at the facility until 9.45 am. He cited this timeline to challenge the credibility of her allegations.
The accused also relied on affidavits submitted by three other female employees, who reportedly vouched for his professional conduct, in support of his plea for anticipatory bail.
However, the prosecution opposed the relief, claiming that the doctor was not cooperating with the investigation. It also submitted that the complainant had recorded audio at the time of the alleged incident, which could be relevant to the probe.
The session court in Dindoshi while rejecting the doctor's anticipatory bail plea agreed with the submission made by the prosecution. UNI AAA CDS
