NCP (AP) hoists flag at Pune party office

Pune, May 1 (UNI) On the occasion of Maharashtra Day, the Nationalist Congress Party-Ajit Pawar (NCP-AP) hoisted its flag at the party office here in Maharashtra.
Addressing party workers, NCP city president Deepak Mankar said the glorious state of Maharashtra has completed 65 years of its existence during the day.
Maharashtra was created through the sacrifice of 106 martyrs, he added.
NCP-AP National President and state Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and state unit chief Sunil Tatkare have tried to give a special place to the glorious tradition of Maharashtra through the Mangal Kalash Rath Yatra, said Mankar in a press release today.
On the occasion of this Rath Yatra, sacred soil from the places enriched by the residence of great men and inspired by their great deeds, special rivers and sanctuaries brought from the confluences of rivers and sanctuaries, have been brought into these auspicious kalashas.
This soil is the soil of bloody revolution. This soil is the soil of the sacrifices made by millions of people during the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for the creation of Swarajya, he said.
