Army mentorship helps 38 Arunachal students qualify for Sainik School test

Itanagar, May 23 (UNI) In a powerful testament to resilience, mentorship, and the promise of youth, 38 out of 44 students from the remote border areas of Jang and Dirang, in Arunachal Pradesh, have successfully qualified for the prestigious All India Sainik School Entrance Examination 2025.
This remarkable success has been made possible through a free, high-impact coaching programme conducted by the Indian Army’s Gajraj Corps from July 2024 to April 2025, a Defence spokesperson said on Friday.
Launched with the aim of bridging the educational divide, the initiative was tailored to empower young minds in some of the country’s most remote and underserved regions. Army instructors delivered focused academic training and motivational support, nurturing the skills, discipline, and confidence needed to compete at a national level.
What began as a vision has now become a movement — one that demonstrates how dedication, opportunity, and belief can shape futures. These 38 students are not just exam toppers; they are trailblazers and role models for countless others across the region.
These brilliant young minds are the future of India. Their success is proof that talent knows no boundaries, and with the right support, even the most remote corners of our nation can shine, Guwahati-based Defence PRO Lt Col Mahendra Rawat said.
This unprecedented achievement stands as a beacon of hope and a proud reflection of the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to nation-building through education, empowerment, and inclusion, he said.
Gajraj Corps congratulated these young achievers and their families, reaffirming its dedication to lighting the way for many more to come, the PRO added.
