Bengal: BSF rescues 10 Bangladeshis after boat capsizes in Ganga

Siliguri, Sep 13 (UNI) Alert personnel of the 71 Battalion BSF under the Malda Sector Headquarters rescued 10 Bangladeshi nationals, including three children, three women and four men, after their boat capsized in the Ganga near the Khandua Border Outpost in West Bengal's Malda district, sources said on Sunday.
According to the Malda Sector BSF, all 10 persons, residents of Chapai in Bangladesh, were spotted struggling in the river after the boat capsized on Saturday afternoon. The BSF personnel immediately launched a rescue operation and brought them to safety.
Among those rescued was a 30-day-old infant who was in critical condition. The BSF personnel provided immediate first aid and rushed the baby to a government hospital, where timely medical treatment helped the infant recover. The baby was subsequently discharged safely.
