Vishwakarma Jayanti puts spotlight on skill, labour and craftsmanship: Chhattisgarh CM Sai

Raipur, Sep 17 (UNI) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday said the work of labourers, artisans and skilled professionals deserves greater recognition, describing skill, creativity and dedication as important drivers of the state's development.
Sai was speaking at a Vishwakarma Jayanti programme at his official residence, where he performed traditional rituals and offered prayers to Bhagwan Vishwakarma, regarded as the deity of craftsmanship, construction and creation. He prayed for the well-being and prosperity of Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Minister extended his greetings to workers, artisans, engineers, technicians, entrepreneurs and others associated with construction and industry. He said the occasion was also a reminder that development is built through the work of people whose contributions often remain out of the spotlight. From farms and factories to workshops, construction sites and large industrial units, their skills and labour keep economic activity moving.
Sai said Chhattisgarh's traditional crafts provide an important link with its cultural heritage, while engineers, technicians, and young professionals are bringing new skills and technology into the state's economy. A combination of traditional knowledge and modern technology, he said, can open new avenues for growth. Respect for labour, he added, should not depend on the nature or scale of the work. Workers and artisans across the state are contributing to its progress, and recognising their contribution is a shared social responsibility.
The Chief Minister also stressed the need for continuous skill development as technology and workplaces change. He said sincerity, discipline, dedication, and a willingness to learn would help workers adapt to new demands and contribute to the state's efforts to build a modern and self-reliant economy.
Sai prayed for the success of workers, artisans, technicians, engineers and entrepreneurs and expressed hope that their skills and efforts would continue to contribute to Chhattisgarh's progress and prosperity.
