Himachal: Bilaspur Dy Comm holds review meeting regarding preparations for Prez's proposed visit

Hamirpur, Oct 1 (UNI) Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar today chaired a review meeting at the Zila Parishad Hall ahead of President Droupadi Murmu's proposed one-day visit to Bilaspur district on October 6.
During the meeting, he took a detailed review of the preparations being made by various departments for the President's visit. Superintendent of Police Abhishek Dhiman, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rupinder Kaur, and senior officials from various departments were present at the meeting.
DC Rahul Kumar stated that the visit of the President is a matter of pride for all residents of the district. During the visit, the President will pay obeisance at the Maa Naina Devi temple and also attend the first convocation ceremony of AIIMS Bilaspur.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed all officials to discharge their respective duties with utmost seriousness and responsibility to ensure no shortcomings in the arrangements during the President's visit. He directed all concerned departments—including the AIIMS administration, Public Works Department (PWD), Jal Shakti, Electricity, and Health & Family Welfare—to complete all necessary preparations within the stipulated time and according to prescribed protocols.
He emphasized that ensuring the successful and well-organized conduct of the President's visit is the collective responsibility of the district administration and all concerned departments. To this end, all officials should work with mutual coordination, synergy, and a team spirit. He added that every department must regularly review its assigned tasks and ensure their completion within the set timeframe.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Public Works Department and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to complete the repair and maintenance of roads along the President's proposed travel routes in a timely manner, ensuring there is no inconvenience during the commute. He also directed the Electricity and Forest Departments to immediately remove trees, power lines, or any other obstructions along the approach road from Toba to Shri Naina Devi Ji. Additionally, he instructed the Jal Shakti Department to ensure an uninterrupted drinking water supply.
He further directed the Health Department and all other concerned departments to discharge their duties in a time-bound manner. He stated that special vigilance would be maintained regarding security and traffic arrangements during the President's visit. To this end, the Police Department will deploy an adequate number of security personnel. Furthermore, Sector Magistrates will be appointed at various key locations to ensure effective monitoring of all arrangements.
Senior officials from various departments, including the SDMs of Jhandutta, Sadar, and Shri Naina Devi Ji, were also present at the meeting.
