Faridabad police arrest five in two separate violencecases

Faridabad, Oct 8 (UNI) Faridabad Police have arrested five people in two separate cases of violence, including a man accused of shooting his younger brother over an ancestral property dispute and four others allegedly involved in a knife attack on a youth outside a roadside food stall, a police official said on Thursday.
In the first case, Saran police arrested Tushar, a resident of Saran village, on October 7 for reportedly shooting his younger brother Abhishek Gaur during a dispute over an ancestral house on August 28.
According to a complaint filed by Abhishek's wife, Tushar and his wife had been involved in repeated disputes with the couple over the property.
She alleged that Tushar opened fire at Abhishek when the couple visited the family house in Saran on August 28. One bullet struck Abhishek, leaving him injured.
Police said Tushar was arrested from Press Colony in Faridabad following technical surveillance and information from confidential sources.
During questioning, the accused allegedly disclosed that he had fired at his brother with an illegal firearm following an altercation involving family members. He had been evading arrest and hiding in Vrindavan, Delhi and other places since the incident, police said.
The accused was produced before a court, which remanded him to one-day police custody for further interrogation and recovery of evidence.
In a separate case, Old Faridabad police arrested four men for purportedly attacking Satish, a resident of New Ahirwara, with a knife outside a chowmein stall near Tubewell No. 2 in Baselwa Colony around 9.45 pm on October 6.
The accused were identified as Tarun, Yuvraj alias Gadwali, Rahul alias Buddhi and Arun, all residents of Baselwa Colony.
According to a complaint lodged by Satish's father Shakal Dev, Tarun and Yuvraj arrived on a scooter, while Rahul and Arun approached on foot. The four allegedly assaulted Satish, and one of them stabbed him near his right hip.
Police said preliminary questioning indicated that an earlier verbal altercation between Satish and the accused had triggered the attack.
Arun allegedly inflicted the knife injury during the assault, police said.
Police recovered the knife used in the attack and the scooter allegedly used by the accused. All four were produced before a court and sent to judicial custody. UNI KK AAB
Separate cases have been registered at Saran and Old Faridabad police stations, and further investigations are underway.
