Haryana: Seven arrested in cyber fraud, arms, drug and public nuisance cases

Gurugram, Nov 1 (UNI) Seven people have been arrested in separate cases involving a Rs 2 lakh cyber fraud, illegal arms, drug trafficking and public nuisance, a police official said on Sunday.
In the cyber fraud case, police arrested Rahul Kumar, a Bihar resident living in Delhi's Kapashera, on October 30 for allegedly cheating a man of Rs 2 lakh by posing as a Paytm representative.
The complainant had approached Cyber Crime West police station on September 19, alleging that a man offering assistance with payment-related work used his mobile phone to fraudulently transfer money from his bank account.
Police said the mobile number used in the fraud was registered in Rahul's name. Investigators found that he allegedly received Rs 45,000 from the proceeds and was involved with associates suspected of cheating at least three people.
In a separate illegal arms case, the Crime Branch, Sector-17, arrested Vivek Goswami (22), a resident of Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura district, on October 31 for allegedly supplying a country-made pistol to another accused. A pistol was subsequently recovered from his possession.
The arrest followed the October 25 apprehension of Shubham alias Shooter (19), from whom a country-made pistol was seized near Sector-37. Shubham allegedly told investigators that he had purchased the weapon in Mathura for Rs 6,000.
Police said Shubham also had a previous Arms Act case registered against him in Gurugram.
In another operation, the Anti-Narcotics Cell arrested Saurabh (29), a resident of Sheetla Colony, near Kisan Mandi on Sheetla Mata Road on Sunday and recovered 10.45 grams of heroin from his possession.
According to police, the accused allegedly purchased the contraband in Delhi for Rs 12,000 and intended to sell it in smaller quantities in Gurugram. A case was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
Meanwhile, three youths were arrested for allegedly creating a disturbance by standing through the open sunroof of a moving Hyundai Creta, playing loud music and misbehaving with residents.
The accused, identified as Praveen Kumar (18), Yash (19) and Divyansh (22), were arrested on Sunday following a complaint lodged at Sector-5 police station on October 31.
Police said the vehicle used in the incident had been recovered.
"A strict watch is being maintained on people creating disturbances in public places and violating traffic rules. Legal action will be taken against those involved in such activities," a police official said.
Further investigations are underway in all four cases.
