Senior technician at Kapurthala RCF dies by suicide

Phagwara (Punjab), June 28 (UNI) A senior technician working at the Rail Coach Factory (RCF) in Kapurthala
was found dead in an apparent case of suicide late Friday evening. The deceased has been identified as Kamaljit Singh (58), a long-serving employee living in Type-2 Colony.
Police said Singh was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside his residence. Upon receiving information, personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) broke open the door and recovered the body. He was reportedly living alone.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Singh had been battling health issues, including diabetes,
which had significantly impaired his vision. Authorities believe his deteriorating eyesight had caused
him considerable distress in recent months. Originally a native of Shahkot, Singh had been residing
in Kapurthala due to his employment.
ASI Davinder Pal confirmed that the process of recording statements from Singh’s family members
is underway. The police have registered a case, and further investigation is ongoing.
