Haryana Congress asks workers to strengthen booth network, step up campaign on public issues

Panchkula, Sep 19 (UNI) Senior Haryana Congress leaders on Saturday called upon party workers to strengthen the organisation at the booth level and intensify their campaign on issues concerning farmers, youth, employees, women and other sections of society.
AICC Haryana in-charge Sanjay Dutt, Haryana Congress president Rao Narender Singh and former chief minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda addressed a Block Congress Committee convention at Meham in Rohtak district.
The Meham convention was part of the party's ongoing series of block-level meetings aimed at strengthening its grassroots organisation.
Dutt said the party's strength rested on its grassroots workers and asked them to maintain regular contact with people at the booth level.
“The organisation should not remain confined to office-bearers. Active participation of workers must be ensured at every booth,” Dutt said, according to a party statement.
He said clearly defined responsibilities, regular communication and accountability were necessary to make the organisation more effective.
Rao Narender Singh said Congress workers should remain connected with people and raise issues concerning farmers, youth, employees, traders and other sections. He said strengthening the organisation, ensuring greater participation of workers and maintaining continuous dialogue with people were among the Haryana Congress's priorities.
Hooda asked party workers to go “village to village and door to door”, interact with residents and raise their concerns through the party organisation and other forums.
He also criticised what he described as the BJP government's “anti-people policies” and asked Congress workers to hold the state government accountable.
The criticism represents the Congress party's political position.
The convention was presided over by Rohtak Rural District Congress Committee president Balwan Singh Ranga and organised by Block Congress Committee president Suresh Chandra.
