UP: Rajeshwar Singh urges CM Yogi to launch pension scheme for senior journalists

Lucknow, Sep 23 (UNI) BJP MLA Dr. Rajeshwar Singh has written a reminder letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, requesting the launch of a pension scheme for senior journalists in the state and the dependent families of deceased journalists.
Dr. Singh expressed his gratitude to the CM for providing financial assistance to lawyers for treatment of serious illnesses and strengthening the Journalist Welfare Fund for the families of journalists in distress. He said that Yogi's sensitive leadership is providing security and respect to every section of society serving the society.
The MLA, in a statement on Wednesday, requested that senior journalists over the age of 60 who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria be provided with a regular monthly pension, and in case of untimely death during service, their widow or eligible dependent family member be provided a minimum family pension of Rs 25,000 per month for at least five years and a period of 5 to 10 years, depending on the need.
