UP’s ‘Team 12’ to address global technological challenges in US, UK, Germany and Beyond

Lucknow, Oct 11 (UNI) Students from Uttar Pradesh are moving towards establishing their technological capabilities on the global stage in cutting-edge fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, quantum technology, and cybersecurity.
A total of 150 students from Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science (UPSIFS) presented their technological solutions, demonstrating how the integration of modern technology with forensic education can open up new avenues for innovation. The best performers were selected to form ‘Team 12’, which is preparing to participate in international projects.
Students presented their projects before Pawan Sharma, CEO of Braviti, who works in the fields of AI, robotics, and cybersecurity in the United States. They also showcased their innovative solutions before Parag Shende, CEO of KIPL. Following these presentations, the best-performing students were selected to form ‘Team 12’.
The initiative is significant in enabling students to move beyond theoretical knowledge and explore the practical application of technology to address real-world challenges.
Dr G K Goswami, Founding Director of UPSIFS, said that technology-driven forensic education was being promoted in line with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision. The focus is on familiarising students with modern technologies, encouraging innovation and connecting their knowledge with practical applications.
The world today faces several challenges related to cybercrime, digital security, automation and complex technological systems. To address these issues, new solutions are being developed in fields such as AI, robotics, and quantum technology. Against this backdrop, the technological solutions presented by students provide an opportunity to showcase their practical understanding and innovative capabilities.
The initiative at UPSIFS assumes particular significance because the study of forensic science at the institute is closely linked with technological and legal aspects. Technological knowledge plays a crucial role in areas such as digital evidence examination, cybersecurity and the scientific investigation of modern crimes.
A key highlight of the initiative is the proposed participation of ‘Team 12’ in international projects. This will open up opportunities for students to engage with technological assignments and projects at the global level.
The broader objective is to showcase the talent and innovative capabilities of Indian students in the context of technological advancements taking place in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany.
Technology-driven education aims not merely to familiarise students with emerging technologies but also to develop their ability to identify problems, analyse them scientifically and devise practical solutions. In rapidly evolving fields such as AI, robotics and cybersecurity, these capabilities can open up new opportunities in research and entrepreneurship in the future.
The academic model of UPSIFS places significant emphasis on the integration of technology, law and forensic science. As digital technologies and scientific evidence become increasingly important in modern criminal investigations, coordination among these disciplines is also gaining importance.
A combination of technological knowledge, an understanding of legal procedures and expertise in forensic investigation can help prepare students for professional opportunities across diverse fields.
The members of ‘Team 12’ are Ishani Pandey, Ishani Ojha, Siddhi Vats, Sakshi Gehlot, Pushkar Singh, Ravi Yadav, Vivek Mishra, Prakhar Singh, Divyam Srivastava, Animesh Shukla, Anubhav Chaturvedi and Ravishankar Kushwaha.
The project is being led by Dr Nimisha Singh, Head of the Training and Placement Cell at UPSIFS.
