Haryana: Kaithal police crack down on traffic violators

Kaithal, Sep 12 (UNI) On orders of Haryana Director General of Police Ajay Singal, a four-day special Operation Prahar was conducted in the district and 121 vehicles without number plates and 476 vehicles were impounded and four stolen bikes were recovered, while 985 challaned.
Operation Prahar was launched against the alleged traffic violators from September 9 to September 12 under the direction of SP Manpreet Singh Sudan with the aim of strengthening road safety, maintaining smooth traffic system and curbing road accidents in Police District Kaithal.
DSP Kaithal Ramesh Chandra, giving information, said that 18 special checkpoints were set up in district Kaithal to run this special campaign effectively. Apart from this, all police station managers, outpost in-charges and QRT teams were included in the campaign. Police teams conducted continuous blockades and intensive checks in their respective police station and outpost areas and took action against drivers without number plates and violating other traffic rules. Thus, during the three-day special Operation Prahar, 121 challans were issued for vehicles without number plates and a total of 985 challans were issued including 426 vehicles being impounded .
