Addressing a meeting of the District-Level Skill Committee organised under the aegis of the Himachal Pradesh Skill Development Corporation, Kumar said 1,080 youth would receive short-term skill training, while 1,320 would undergo long-term training. Certificates would also be issued to candidates upon successful completion of the programmes.
The meeting reviewed measures to provide employment-oriented skill training to young people and ensure effective implementation of the scheme in the district.
Kumar said special emphasis would be laid on training in tourism and hospitality, environmental science and green energy, water management and plumbing, healthcare services and other related sectors.
