Truck driver burnt alive: Truck filled with methanol collided with a parked paddy-laden vehicle and caught fire

Kalayat/ Kaithal, Oct 30 (UNI) In a tragic road accident near village Simla on the Chandigarh Hisar National Highway near Kalayat, the driver of a truck loaded with methanol was burnt alive when it collided with a vehicle parked on the roadside laden with paddy.
After the collision, a massive fire broke out in the truck filled with methanol. The fire took a huge form in no time and the driver got trapped in the cabin of the truck and was burnt to death on the spot.
Police received information about the incident on number 112 around night. As soon as the information was received, police and fire department teams reached the spot.
The fire brigade personnel tried hard to control the fire, but by then the truck driver had lost his life.
Police station in-charge Randeep Singh said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the driver of the paddy-laden vehicle was checking its tires by parking the vehicle on the roadside.
Meanwhile, the truck full of methanol coming from behind lost its balance and collided with the parked vehicle.
After the collision, the truck filled with methanol caught fire, in which the driver was badly trapped.
The deceased driver was a resident of Rajasthan.
After identifying him, the family members have been informed about the accident through the vehicle owner, police said.
Police are investigating the matter and further legal action is being taken.
