Pan-India cyber hackathon, Project Lighthouse India 2026 begin in Kerala

Kochi, Oct 6 (UNI) A pan-India multi-city cyber hackathon and a senior police leadership programme focusing on preventing child sexual exploitation and abuse began here on Tuesday as part of the preparations for C0c0n 2026, the annual cyber security conference of Kerala Police.
The ‘HAC’KP’ hackathon and ‘Project Lighthouse India 2026’ were inaugurated at the Crowne Plaza in Kochi. Organised under the Kerala Police Cyber Division, the three-day programmes will continue till October 8.
The HAC’KP hackathon aims to bring technology and cyber security experts together to develop innovative solutions to emerging challenges in the cyber security sector.
Project Lighthouse India 2026 is aimed at strengthening police leadership and partnerships with stakeholders to ensure a safer digital environment for children. It will focus on developing effective measures to prevent child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA).
Promoting innovation in cyber security, strengthening international cooperation and enhancing coordinated efforts to protect children from online exploitation and abuse are among the key objectives of the initiatives.
State Intelligence ADGP Dinendra Kashyap, Police Headquarters IG Harshita Attaluri, State Crime Records Bureau and Cyber Operations IG P Prakash, Southern Range IG R Nishanthini, Cyber Operations SP Ankit Ashokan, senior police officers from various States, Kindred Tech representative Peter Pilly and Childlight C-TAP Director Kelvin Lay attended the inaugural function.

Medak, Oct 6 (UNI) Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla called for collective efforts by families, schools, police, officials and the public to make Medak a drug-free district and urged people to adopt the message "Yes to life, No to drugs."
Participating in the Nasha Mukt Bharat programme at the Medak Integrated District Offices Complex (IDOC) on Tuesday, the Governor flagged off a drug-free awareness rally and stressed that social change must begin with individuals and families.
