Maha Govt sets up 12-Member panel to reintroduce college campus elections

Mumbai, Sep 25 (UNI) The Maharashtra government has officially announced the formation of a 12-member committee to study how student council elections in college campuses and higher educational institutions can be reintroduced.
The Higher and Technical Education Department has issued a Government Resolution (GR) regarding the appointment of such a committee, under the chairmanship of former Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University, Professor Suhas Pednekar.
The committee has been given a period of one month to submit its report. Based on this report, the Maharashtra government will take further decisions about whether to conduct the election process or not or how to conduct it.
